Ten Impressive features about Director

Scroll Down Menu:

Allows the designer to compact information so when the user wishes to view that data all they have to do is use the scroll bars

The use of sound:

Allows the designer to import sound files into Director. This could be ones voice or music. This is an important function as sound can really make a program, we-site etc come alive. It is also good as a navigational and instructional aid. I have used sound in the first (main) portal. It is used as an introduction and only lasts about ten seconds.

Colour Cycling:

Allow the colours in a project whether they are text or images to be manipulated. The manipulation is in the form of circulation of colours and the tempo by which they change.

Transition:

Allows the designer to change the format and style of the screen. An example of this is the transformation of the page into blind sections.

Tweening:

Is used to unify different sprites, that is, to join together and make them look unified. This is then used as animation. I have used this tool in both my animations.

Drop down menu:

Allows the designer to compact information so when the user wishes to view that data all they have to do is click on the box.

Rollover Member change:

This allows the designer this extra-added navigational aid. When the cursor is over a particular object it will change to another shape and or colour etc. This allows the designer to create themes. An example would be buttons. If something changes shape and or colour the user will know after a little time it stands for a button and can be clicked.

Rollover Cursor change:

Makes the cursor change design when over an image. Is good as an extra navigational aid. Is not really that practical but adds to the over look and theme of the project

Paint Window:

Allows the creation or edit of images. Is a great function for those final touch ups that have been over-looked during production. One would hate to go back to a graphic package and star all over again just to change a very minor mistake on the image.

Rotation:

Rotates sprites. Is useful as a visual aid.
